Manchester United’s star playmaker Juan Mata is open to a Fenerbahce move according to the Turkish television channel Aspor.

Aspor have claimed that Fenerbahce have held early talks with Mata’s agent and that the early negotiations have been positive.

The report goes onto state that Fenerbahce will table an offer for Mata if they can agree personal terms with the 29-year-old.

Fenerbahce have built up a strong relationship with Man Utd after signing both Robin van Persie and Luis Nani from the Premier League giants over the summer transfer window.

The former Valencia playmaker’s future at Old Trafford has been cast in doubt following the appointment of Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese tactician sold Mata from Chelsea to United during his second spell with the Blues.

Spanish newspaper El Confidencial have claimed the Portuguese manager is open to selling Spain Mata over the summer transfer window.

Mata provided 11 assists and scored 10 goals for United last season and has another two-years left on his contract.
