Newcastle would be able to offer the 26-year-old the wages he is demanding.

The report claims that Aboubakar is worth £9 million.

The Senegal international spent the season on loan at Besiktas establishing himself as a key player.

Besiktas went onto win the league title with Aboubakar playing an important role.

The Black Eagles also reached the Europa League quarter-finals, bowing out against Lyon on penalties.

Aboubakar wrapped up the season scoring 19 goals and providing four assists in all competitions.

The powerful forward did however, have disciplinary issues and was sent off three times over the course of the season.

Besiktas are keen on signing the striker on a permanent deal but are unable to match his asking price.
