Newcastle United prepare January move for Cape Verde international

Newcastle are looking to bolster their attacking options during the upcoming January transfer window.

Rafa Benitez’s side have made an impressive start of the season and sit in 12th place with 15 points after 14 games.

According to Turkish outlet Fotomac, The Magpies are preparing a move for Galatasaray forward Garry Rodrigues.

The 27-year-old was previously linked with a move to Newcastle back in the summer however, Galatasaray refused to offload their star man.

However, the Cape Verde international has found himself on the fringes of the squad following the arrival of Sofiane Feghouli from West Ham United.

Rodrigues has netted one goal and provided two assists in 12 league appearances for Galatasaray this season.

Newcastle United were held to a 2-2 draw by West Brom over the weekend and take on Premier League champions Chelsea this weekend.

Rodrigues could be back in action when Galatasaray take on their biter Istanbul rivals Besiktas.
