Revealed: Arsene Wenger considered benching another superstar against Liverpool
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger caused the shock of the weekend when he opted to leave Alexis Sanchez out of the Gunners starting lineup.
The Chilean international is Arsenal’s top goal scorer and has also provided the most assists for the north London based club. Wenger did bring Sanchez on in the second half.
According to the Telegraph, Wenger may have had another surprise in store. Per the source, the French tactician considered dropping Mesut Ozil to the bench too.

Ozil has come under fire for his performances in recent weeks and has failed to find the back on the net since December.
Arsenal went onto lose the game 3-1, leaving them out of the top four. The Gunners can leapfrog Liverpool back into forth place should they win their game in hand.
Arsene Wenger’s side take on Bayern Munich in the Uefa Champions League next week. Arsene need to score at least four goals if they are to stand a chance of qualifying to the quarter finals.
