Revealed: Liverpool set to scout Brazilian star at Europa League clash

Liverpool will be among the several clubs sending scouts to the Europa League Last 16 second-leg tie between Besiktas and Olympiakos a source close to the Istanbul giants told Turkish-Football.

The Reds will scout Besiktas star midfielder Anderson Talisca who they have been keeping tabs on all season.

Scouts from Liverpool, Arsenal, West Ham, Lazio, Norwich City and Sevilla are expected to attend the game at the Vodafone Arena in Istanbul.

Talisca has been in red hot form for Besiktas this season and is expected to start in a No 10 role.

The Brazilian midfielder is currently on a two-year loan at Besiktas from Benfica.

Talisca is unlikely to return to Benfica following an ongoing rift he has with his parent club.

The 22-year-old has a €25 million release clause option which Besiktas are considering activating at the end of the season.

Liverpool were also closely linked with Talisca over the summer transfer window.

The Reds and Besiktas could also face competition from Lazio who became the latest side to be linked with Talisca according to A Bola.

The powerful attacking midfielder has nine goals and three assists in all competitions this season.

Besiktas will book a place in the Europa League quarter-finals for the first time since 2003 if they progress past the Greek champions.

The Black Eagles are also currently first in the Turkish league and will win the champions for a second year in a row if they lift the title again.
