Tottenham consider replacing Harry Kane with £17.5m striker if he joins Real Madrid, Man United also linked

Tottenham are considering making an offer for Cenk Tosun if Harry Kane ends up leaving over the summer according to reports in Turkey.

Fanatik report that Real Madrid are intent on signing Kane and that Spurs could struggle to hold onto him next season.

Per the source, Spurs are preparing for the chance that Kane leaves and have Tosun on their shortlist.

The prolific goalscorer would cost Tottenham £17.5 million.

The North London outfit recently scouted the Turkish international in the Black Eagles Champions League clash against Porto.

Tosun ended up scoring the Champions League goal of the week in the 3-1 victory over the Portuguese giants.

Former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood feels that Kane could end up at Barcelona, Real Madrid or Manchester United if the North London based outfit do not win a trophy this season.

“There’s only so much loyalty someone can show,” he told Sky Sports.

“Tottenham have been a great club for Harry and he’s been paying them back tenfold.

“He’s been outstanding over the last couple of seasons, he grew up a stone’s throw from the ground and the kid loves the club.

“But that only lasts a certain amount of time. Then he starts seeing the pound signs and sees the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid or – dare I say it – Manchester United – and then your head gets turned.

“The only way they can keep him is to win something this year. That something might not be the Carabao Cup, it might have to be the league or the FA Cup.”
