Robin van Persie joined Fenerbahce from Manchester United last summer but has revealed that he will always cherish working with Sir Alex Ferguson.

Van Persie joined Manchester United in 2012 and Sir Alex Ferguson played a major role in convincing him to the move according to Rio Ferdinand.

The experienced striker lavished praises on Ferguson in his pre-match press conference ahead of Fenerbahce’s Europa League Last 16 clash against Braga.

Van Persie said: “He was special and I won the league in my first season their. Everybody knew they had to put in 100 percent effort. He was just special.”

The Dutch star striker left Arsenal after spending eight seasons at the north London based club to win the league title in his first season at the Red Devils.

Van Persie played a key role in United winning the league title for a record 20th time and also won the Community Shield with the Premier League giants.

The Netherlands international has 14 goals and one assist in all competitions for the Yellow Canaries this season.
