17-year-old Man City target nicknamed ‘Turkish Donnarumma’ will cost £4.3m says Altinordu president
Altinordu president Ali Seyit Ozkan has revealed that he currently values goalkeeping wonder-kid Berke Ozer as being worth £4.3 million [€5m].
The 17-year-old keeper has attracted widespread attention with his agent Omer Koray Uzun confirming Manchester City have been scouting him.
“I heard about the rumour but there is no agreement or transfer taking place,” Uzun said.
“Manchester City and several clubs were scouting him at the Under-17 European Championships, this must be were the rumour stems from”
Ozkan meanwhile stated that Altinordu have receive an offer for Ozer.
The club president underlined that Ozer will remain at Altinordu until he is 18 and then they will discuss a potential move.
“We are in talks with three major European clubs,” Ozer was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.
“However, even if we agree a deal he will spend another season here and remain until he is 18.
“There is a club offering £1.2 million [€1.5m] but we want at least £4.3m (€5m).”
City have a history of signing promising Turkish talent. The Citizens signed Enes Unal in 2015 for £2 million and made a £10 million profit, selling him to Villarreal for £12 million last week with a buy-back option.
Ozer is one of the most highly rated young players in Turkey and has been dubbed the Turkish Donnarumma.
The rising start is the latest prospect to emerge form the highly acclaimed Altinordu academy.
The 17-year-old has made 22 appearances for Turkey at U15, U16, U17 level and was called up to the senior national team setup by Fatih Terim ahead of the international friendly against Macedonia.
Ozer will also be in the squad for the World Cup qualifier against Kosovo next week.
