Turkish international midfielder Arda Turan’s future at the club remains in doubt according to the latest report from Sport.
Per the source, Turan will be called back to training one week earlier than his other teammates who were at the European Championship as he will be given a final chance to prove himself.
The Sun only recently reported that that Premier League giants Chelsea and Arsenal are in a race to sign the Turan and that Barcelona.
Turan will undergo an assessment from the Barcelona technical team regarding his fitness and ability after which head coach Luis Enrique will make a decision on his future.
The Turkish international midfielder is expected to join Barcelona of the pre-season friendly against Celtic on July 30.
Mundo Deportivo reported that Barca will listen to offers for Turan that match their valuation of the player.
Sport meanwhile report that Barcelona have given Turan the green light to leave the La Liga champions.
The report claims that Turan will be allowed to leave under two conditions, if Barca receive an offer that matches their £20 million valuation and secondly if the 29-year-old makes a transfer request.
Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut has stated that Turan is happy at Barcelona.
Speaking to Emre Sarigul of Turkish-football.com [via the Guardian], Bulut said: “The interest [in Arda] is normal but the rumours saying he is leaving Barcelona are false, he is happy at the club.”
Bulut did however, hint for the first time that leaving Barcelona could be a possibility.
The agent told Calcio Mercato: “I know nothing of Milan’s interest in Arda. At the moment I can only say that he wants to remain with Barcelona. I don’t know, however, what could happen during the transfer window.”
