1. Manchester United lack creativity in midfield
Manchester United have been searching for a creative midfielder since Paul Scholes retired at the end of the 2012-13 season aged 38. The Red Devils have Michael Carrick, Daley Blind, Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini as options in midfield, neither of which offer anything close to the creativity Scholes had.
United boss Louis van Gaal recently confirmed that he wants to buy a midfield player in the summer transfer window.
“I am looking for balance and I need balance in midfield,” van Gaal stated.
The addition of Gündoğan would add depth and creativity to the Manchester United midfield. The German international has a passing accuracy of 84 percent this season and can be deployed in an attacking or defensive role.
