Former Chelsea and Manchester United star Ray Wilkins has slammed Mesut Ozil who his latest set of demands.

According to the Sun, Ozil wants to wear the number ten jersey in order to boost his personal brand. The World Cup winner wears the number ten shirt for the Germany national team and used to wear it for Real Madrid.

However, Jack Wilshere currently occupies the number ten jersey at Arsenal.

Wilkins has criticised Ozil for wanting the number ten jersey from Wilshere and has stated that the star playmaker isn’t good enough to wear it.

“He is not a great player so why should he wear 10?” Wilkins told talkSPORT.

“Why should he nick that off Jack? I think the word ‘great’ is used far too often.

“I don’t think he has ever been a great player. He’s been a fantastic player. I don’t think he is a great player.

“You see him in the Premier League week in week out, he’s a good player, he’s a very good player.”

Ozil has been included in Germany’s national team which will take on England on Friday night.

The 29-year-old played the full 90 minutes during Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of Man City last weekend. The Gunners take on their north London rivals Tottenham in their next league clash.
