£46.5m Alexandre Lacazette reveals what he really thinks about Arsenal star Mesut Ozil
Arsenal record signing Alexandre Lacazette has heaped praise on his teammate Mesut Ozil.
Lacazette made the move from Lyon to the Gunners over the summer for £46.5 million. The transfer broke the previous record set by Mesut Ozil’s £42 million move from Real Madrid to Arsenal.
The France international striker has made an impressive start to his Arsenal career. The 26-year-old has already racked up eight goals and one assist in 16 games for the Gunners.
During an interview with the clubs official website, Lacazette revealed why he enjoys playing alongside Ozil.
“For Mesut, it’s about passes, his vision of the game and passes,” Lacazette told Arsenal Player.
“And for Alexis [Sanchez], perseverance. He always wants to go further, be stronger and rise higher. As well as being very fast, he always wants go even further.
“I already get on very well with them in every day life. On the pitch, we’ve gotten to a point where we understand one another better, better than at the beginning.
“We learn more every day. But we already know how the other likes to play so it’s easier for us.”
Both Mesut Ozil and Lacazette were included in Arsene Wenger’s starting lineup for Arsenal’s clash with Southampton on Sunday. However, the pair failed to make an impact while the Gunners were held to a 1-1 draw.
The duo are expected to be back in action when Arsenal take on their London rivals West Ham United on Wednesday night.
