Former Beşiktaş manager Slaven Bilic has signed a three-year deal with West Ham replacing Sam Allardyce as the Hammers head coach.
We explore five reasons why Bilic could be a success at West Ham United.
1. Former Player
Much like Diego Simeone (Atletico Madrid), Slaven Bilic is returning to club where he is a firm fan favourite. The former Croatia national team manager spent 18-months playing for the Hammers as a player from January 1996. The 46-year-old was the darling of the media in Turkey, his witty comments, humour and humility won over the press and the fans. Even during his darkest hour when the Black Eagles title aspirations fell to pieces the clubs main ultra group Çarşı rallied behind him and urged the board not to part ways with Bilic.
