£50m Ivan Perisic to Man United deal under threat following Barcelona star U-turn
Turkey international Arda Turan’s Inter Milan snub may scupper Manchester United’s hopes of signing Ivan Perisic.
The Red Devils have been closely linked with a move for the Croatia international in recent weeks.
However, Inter boss Luciano Spalletti has stated that Inter will need to find a realistic replacement for Perisic before considering an offer.
According to Goal, Inter have set a £50 million price tag on their star midfielder.
Inter were in talks with a replacement for Perisic under a week ago. The Serie A giants held talks with Arda Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut (A Spor).
Per the source, the Turkey international was tipped to leave Barcelona with Inter leading the chase to land the 30-year-old.
However, Turan has had a change of heart. The former Galatasaray man decided against leaving Barcelona despite clearing out his locker in preparation for a departure.
Arda Turan’s change of heart meant Inter were unable to land a replacement for Perisic. This does not of course mean Inter won’t be able to find a replacement for Perisic in the coming days which will open the door for his departure to Man United.

“He’s an important player in the team and we’re counting on him to start the new season,” Spalletti was quoted as saying by Goal.
“Sure, there were rumours, but the status quo is that we want to keep Perisic.
“Having said that, if someone comes in with a very difficult offer to reject, then we’ll consider that.
“But, of course, we’ll need to find a valid alternative for Perisic as well.”
Turan had also been linked with a move to Arsenal by Mundo Deportivo. The Turkey international scored 13 times and provided seven assists in all competitions last season.
Perisic meanwhile provided 11 assist and 11 goals in 36 Serie A appearances for the Italian giants.
