Emre Can provided one of the moments of the evening yesterday during Liverpool’s win over Southampton.
The Red’s recorded a 6-1 victory on the night to advance to the Semi finals of the league cup where they will take on Stoke City.
Can played the full 90 minutes in Liverpool’s midfield. The 21-year-old provided an exquisite assist for Daniel Sturridge’s second goal.
The former Bayer Leverkusen man picked up a yellow card in the second half meaning he will be suspended for this weekends Premier League clash with Newcastle United.
Sturridge found the back of the net twice in the first half while Derek Origi scored a hat-trick. Jordon Ibe scored Liverpool’s remaining goal.
Can has one assist and one goal for Liverpool in 21 appearances this season.
Following the game we took to Twitter to see how Can’s performance went down on social media.

What a pass that is from Emre Can. Been poor so far but all forgiven as he delivers with outside of right boot for Sturridge to make it 2-1.

Outside-of-the-foot cross-field through balls from Emre Can… Liverpool playing with a sense of self-expression anyway.
