Beşiktaş beat Galatasaray 2-1 at the Atatürk Olympic stadium in the Istanbul derby to overtake Fenerbahçe and move into first place in the Super league table.
Galatasaray opened the scoring when Wesley Sneijder capitalised on a goalkeeping error by Günay but Mario Gomez was on hand to rescue his team with a thunderbolt of a shot from outside the box to equalise just a minute later.
Second half substitute Kerim Frei was on hand to setup fellow sub Gökhan Töre with a late winner to record a memorable derby victory.
The 22-year-old now has two goals and two assists in all competitions for the Black Eagles this season.
Frei has managed to attract interest from West Brom following a strng of impressive results.
The Baggies are reported to be plotting a loan move for Frei if their attempt to sign QPR winger Matt Phillips for £7 million falls through according to the Mirror.
Frei is of course no stranger to top-flight football in England as he rose through the ranks of the Fulham academy before his move to Turkey two-years ago.
