West Ham United are preparing a January bid for the Nigeria international striker Emmanuel Emenike.
The Hammers are keen to bolster their attacking options over the transfer window and are linking up a move for the 28-year-old according to ESPN.
ESPN go onto say that the club’s chairman David Sullivan has confirmed that they were hoping to sign a new striker on loan and that Emenike is their main target.
Emenike joined the Dubai-based club Al Ain on loan from Fenerbahce, but has now returned to Turkey.
Tottenham were linked with a €10 million move in January for Emenike by the newspaper Metro.
Emenike scored only five goals in 34 league appearances last season in all competitions.
The Nigerian international was booed by his own fans in the recent Istanbul derby against Beşiktaş. Emenike took off his shirt and walked off the field in protest but later returned to the game.
