West Ham united boss Slaven Bilic has stated that he rates Dimirti Payet alongside Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil.
The former Croatia national team manager went onto say that the French international’s statistics stack up alongside the worlds best.
“But I rate Dimitri at that level with Ozil. I mean definitely, definitely. All day long. They are just brilliant players,” Bilic was quoted as saying by the Mirror.
“Payet went off the radar only because he got injured. But I saw the statistics.
“I think Payet is, after Ozil, No.2 in terms of creating chances or the amount of crosses he makes. He misses four or five games, yet is still No.2.”
Ozil has 16 assists in the Premier League this season and is just four assists away from matching Henry’s record record tally of 20.
Payet has also impressed in his debut season for West Ham. The 28-year-old has scored six goals and made five assists in his last 13 matches.
The France international joined West Ham on a five-year deal for an undisclosed eight-figure sum from Marseille in the summer.
Arsenal take on Burnley in the FA Cup this weekend and Southampton in the Premier League next week.
