Besiktas good enough to play in the Premier League says West Ham boss

Beşiktaş are currently second in the Turkish Super League but have played two games fewer than leaders Fenerbahçe who are five points ahead.

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic was largely responsible for building the backbone of the current Black Eagles side and believes his former team are more than capable of competing in the Premier League.

“Beşiktaş could easily compete in the Premier League they are a very good side,” Bilic told the Hürriyet newspaper in a recent interview.

Bilic guided the Black Eagles to the Europa League quarter-finals last season beating Liverpool in the Round of 32.

The Hammers head coach remains unbeaten against Liverpool having beat the Reds both home and away in the league.

Beşiktaş were involved in the title race last season under the stewardship of Bilic but eventually lost out to Istanbul rivals Galatasaray.

Bilic did not win any silverware at Beşiktaş but the Istanbul giants were going through a transitional period following financial ruin.

The Croatian manager is credited with the resurgence of Beşiktaş and making important transfers on a limited budget.
