Ilkay Gundogan has cast doubts over his Borussia Dortmund future after stating that he has not set a deadline on deciding his Borussia Dortmund future.
Gundogan is going into the last year of his contract with Dortmund after singing an extension at the beginning of the season.
“It is hard to set a deadline for myself. You also need to listen to your feelings,” Gündogan told Sky Sports News in Germany.
“I am not going to put a lot of stress on myself, but I also want to keep all the parties satisfied.”
However Gundogan did say that he is currently fully focused on playing for Dortmund.
“My sights right now are set on playing successful football and remaining top form, I want to play a fantastic role for BVB.”
Gundogan has been linked with a move to Liverpool since the appointment of Jurgen Klopp. The pair worked together at Dortmund where together they won the Bundesliga and reached the final of the UEFA Champions League.
Manchester United were also closely linked with the midfield playmaker at the beginning of the season.
Gundogan is tied into a contract at Dortmund until 2017 after signing a contract extension at the start of the season. The midfield playmaker has six assists and three goals in 29 appearances for Liverpool this season.
