Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has stated that he is ‘very disappointed’ with Sunderland result last weekend.
Liverpool has a 2-0 lead going into the final ten minutes of the game however, Sunderland managed to stage a comeback and draw the game 2-2.
The 22-year-old went onto say that Liverpool deserved to win the game and that they will learn from the experience.
“It was very, very disappointing as it was our mistake because Sunderland did nothing, then we let them come in the last 10 minutes and they scored two goals.” Emre Can told SkySports News.
“But I think we deserved to win, we played better than them, we had so many chances and we can learn from that. And I hope that we win the next game now. We do not know why it happened, but we can just learn from that.”
Can was rested for Liverpool’s mid-week clash with West Ham United in the FA Cup. The Germany international is expected to return to Jurgen Klopp’s stating line-up for this weekend’s encounter with Aston Villa.
Liverpool are currently in ninth place with 35 points in 25 games and can move up to seventh place with a win on Sunday.
Can has provided one assist and scored one goal in 34 appearances for Liverpool this season.
