Barcelona star Arda Turan was in Turkey during the week to open his new restaurant in Istanbul.
The 28-year-old winger has decided that the world of football is not big enough for him and has decided to become a restauranteur.
Turan shared an image on Instagram from his new eatery called ‘Arşiv’ along with a few friends including including Galatasaray star Hamit Altintop and former Fenerbahce midfielder Emre Belozoglu.
Galatasaray legend Hakan Sukur also attended the opening night but was not featured in the photo.
The bearded winger has opened up an ‘Esnaf Lokantası’ which is the Turkish equivalent of a workman’s cafe in a trendy setting underneath the Clarion hotel in Şişli, Istanbul which has a 150 seat capacity.
Esnaf Lokanata restaurants are traditionally very popular in Istanbul in working class areas and serve local tradesmen so it remains to be seen how Turan will be able to create an authentic experience.
Turan has since returned to Spain and shared a picture on his Twitter preparing for the Sevilla game at the Camp Nou tomorrow.
