The Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has stated that no progress has been made regarding his contract extension.
The Bundesliga giants are keen to extend the 25-year-old’s deal following Gundogan’s impressive run of form lately.
“There is nothing new to report,” Gundogan told Bild about his contract situation.
Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel has insisted that Gundogan may yet remain at the Bundesliga club despite interest from abroad.
“I believe it’s not the case that there isn’t a chance he’ll stay,” Tuchel was quoted as saying by SkySports.
“The importance of Ilkay in this form is undisputed, but one can imagine that the interest from other clubs is very high.”
Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool have all expressed an interest in Gundogan according to TalkSport.
The Premier League trio were also linked with the Germany international last summer before he opted to sign a one-year contract extension with the Bundesliga giants.
Gundogan has six assists and three goals in 32 appearances for Dortmund this season.
