The SkySports pundit Jamie Redknapp sent out a warning regarding Mesut Ozil shortly before Arsenal took on Tottenham in the Premier League.
The former Liverpool midfielder stated that Arsenal would be punished if Ozil left his teammates exposed.
“I like Mesut Ozil, for example. What a player. But on Sunday he was letting people run past him. If he does that this Saturday he will get killed,” Redknapp told the Mail
“Midfield is where it’s won and lost in this game and I really fear for Arsenal. If you are Arsenal you will simply run out of lives soon. But they have a lifeline this week and they have to take it.”
Ozil put in a disappointing performance against his clubs rivals. The former Real Madrid man received a rating of 6.2 from WhoScored for his role in his sides draw. Ozil failed to deliver any key passes nor did create any chances for his side.
The Germany international has created a total of chances this season (115) and has 18 assists to his name.
Ozil is just two assists off matching the Premier League record of 20 set by Thierry Henry.
