Robin van Persie made history at Manchester United winning the league title for a record 20th time in his debut season at the club in 2012.
The experienced striker joined Fenerbahce on a three-year deal last summer so he has had plenty of time to reflect on his time at United.
Van Persie was asked which United stars he rated highest in his Europa League Last 16 Braga pre-match press conference.
The Netherlands international told UEFA: “I played with Scholes for one year, but he was injured for a couple of months. Even in training you could tell that players like Scholes, Giggs … I really enjoyed playing with them. They are players with their own style in their own position. I also really enjoyed watching Nemanja Vidić and Rio Ferdinand. It’s difficult to point out one, two or even three.”
There you have it, Van Persie enjoyed playing with Scholes, Giggs, Vidic and Ferdinand.
The feeling between Ferdinand and Van Persie seems to be mutual. Ferdinand revealed that he thought the Red Devils made a mistake in selling Van Persie over the summer and that they could do with another striker.
“The likes of Robin van Persie guarantee you 15 games a season,” Ferdinand said speaking after the goalless draw between Manchester United and Chelsea.
“Robin van Persie would come off the bench and change the game.”
Van Persie’s move from rivals Arsenal did not go down well with Gooners but the Dutch star did go onto win the trophy that had eluded him for eight seasons prior to his transfer.
