Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will hold talks with Mesut Ozil following the comments he made regarding the Gunners’ title hopes.
During an interview spox, Ozil said: ‘Looking at our season so far, we have to be honest and admit that we screwed it up ourselves.
However, Wenger took a different view and when asked if he would discuss the quotes with Ozil, the Frenchman said: “We will talk about that. Yes, of course.
“I have nothing against that. You want to be fair and honest.
“But you want as a well to look forward. Our biggest deficit compared to last season was the chances we created and the goals scored. We’ve created more chances than last year and scored less goals.”
The 27-year-old has two years remaining on his deal with Arsenal and has been in scintillating form of late. Ozil played a staring role in the Gunners’ 4-0 victory over Watford FC.
The Germany international has a total of 19 assists in the Premier League this season – the highest in the league – and has created more chances than any other player (116).
