Mesut Ozil met with Fenerbahce officials late last year according to a report in the Hurriyet newspaper.
The daily newspaper claim’s that while Fenerbahce are not planning a bid for the 27-year-old in the upcoming transfer window, they would like to see Ozil at their sometime in the next two years.
Ozil previously confirmed that one day he would like to join the club he supports.
“In the future I want to wear a Fenerbahce shirt. It would be an honour. Everyone knows I am a Fenerbahce fan.” Ozil was quoted as saying in the Sabah newspaper last July.
Ozil has of course been in impressive form for the north London based club having provided the highest number of assists in the league (19) and the most chances (119).
The Germany intentional of Turkish origin has also picked up four Arsenal player of the month awards and is expected to win player of the year as well.
Ozil has two years remaining on his deal with Arsenal and has been in scintillating form of late. Arsenal take on West Ham United in the Premier League this weekend.
