Villarreal will face Premier League outfit Liverpool in the Europa League semi-final following the draw that took place in the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzterland.
Liverpool beat Borussia Dortmund 5-4 on aggregate after a dramatic second leg at Anfield where they came back from two goals down to pull off a come-back to win the game 4-3 thanks to a last-gasp goal from James Milner.
Villarreal meanwhile knocked out Sparta Prague to become the second Spanish side to book a place in the last-four.
The Yellow Submarines are fourth in the La Liga and have beat both Madrid sides and drawn with Barcelona at home this season. Villarreal have also knocked out Napoli and Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League this season.
The ties for the two Europa League semi-final legs will be played on 28 April and 5 May.
