Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has urged his star playmaker Mesut Ozil to continue working on his body language.
The 27-year-old stated last week that he was working on his body language to ensure Arsenal fans don’t think he gives up during matches.
“He was perceived to be a bit nonchalant, or a bit ‘who cares?’ but that’s not his mind,” Wenger stated at a pre-match news conferance on Friday.
“To show that you can fight, being a champion is a combination of exceptional talent but an exceptional attitude as well, certainly now more than ever before.
“He has added that to his game but I think there is still some way to go. I think he can still improve on that front and it will only make him better and stronger.”
Ozil was one of the Arsenal’s star performers during their 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace yesterday.
The 27-year-old has provided the highest number of assists in the Premier League this season (19).
The former Real Madrid star would have had more assists to his name had it not been for the profligacy of his teammates. Ozil has created the most chances in the league (122) but Arsenal have the lowest goal record in the top four.
The Gunners take on West Brom next weekend in the Premier League.
