Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker has said that he believes that Mesut Ozil is worth 30 points a season to Arsenal.
The Germany international thinks that Ozil has the ability to provide 20 assists and ten goals per season.
Ozil struggled in his initial two seasons at Arsenal after joining for a club record £42.5million from Real Madrid. However, Ozil has been in impressive for this season and has provided the highest number of assists in the Premier League this season (19).
“When he fulfils his potential, he has 20-plus assists in him and has even got the ability of scoring 10-plus goals”
“When he can be difference between 30-plus points, it is vital for the team.”
Ozil has also created the most chances in the league (122) but Arsenal have the lowest goal record in the top four. The stats show that Ozil could have more assists to his name had it not been for the profligacy of his teammates.
