Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has criticised the PFA Team of the Year for Mesut Ozil’s exclusion.
The experinced manager has questioned the decision to leave Ozil out considering he has provided 18 assists in the Premier League this season.
“It’s a surprise to me. It’s the players who vote. I don’t know why they didn’t pick him,” Wenger stated at the post-match conferance after Arsenal’s win over West Brom.
“When you are top of the assists usually that’s a sign of quality which means you should get a place in the top team.”
Ozil has been in impressive for this season and has provided the highest number of assists in the Premier League this season (18).
The former Real Madrid playmaker could have more assists to his name had it not been for the profligacy of his teammates. Ozil has created the most chances in the league (122) but Arsenal have the lowest goal record in the top four.
Arsenal have moved back into third place in the Premier League following their win over West Brom.
