Mesut Ozil has stated that he is in no hurry to sign a contract extension with Arsenal.
The Germany international has two years remaining on his current deal with the Gunners.
“There’s no hurry. I have two years left on my contract,” Ozil told Sport-Informations-Dienst (via G0al).
“We’ll see how it goes at the end of the season.”
Ozil is Arsenal’s most expensive signing however, following a disappointing end to the season Ozil is seeking assurances that the squad will be strengthened in the summer.
Ozil has provided the highest number of assists in the Premier League this season (18).
The 27-year-old star would have had more assists to his name had it not been for the profligacy of his teammates. Ozil has created the most chances in the league (137) but Arsenal have the lowest goal record in the top four.
