Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan has put his disappointing season down to the transfer ban imposed on the club.
Turan was unable to play first team football for the first six months of the season due to the transfer ban and went onto make his debut in January.
The Spanish newspaper Marca has stated that the Turkish international feels that starting the season late has left his lower down the pecking order.
The report goes onto say that Turan has realised that Barcelona boss Luis Enrique’s side carries carry no passengers and due to his lack of first team football, it has taken a while to get up speed.
Arda joined Barcelona from Atletico Madrid last summer for €37 million plus a potential €7 in bonuses. The 29-year-old has made just seven starts for his new club since making the switch.
Barcelona take on Real Betis in the Spanish league as they look to preserve their lead at the top of the table.
