Borussia Dortmund have delayed contract talks with Ilkay Gundogan until he recovers from his latest injury.
The midfielder suffered a dislocated kneecap in training earlier this month, ruling him out of Euro 2016 this summer.
“We will postpone the plans until he is more or less recovered,” the Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke told Kicker.
Gundogan has just over 12 months remaining on his current contract with Dortmund and looked set to make a switch to Manchester City before sustaining the injury.
The Manchester Evening News report that the transfer was close to completion with City agreeing personal terms with Gundogan.
The report goes onto state that it is unclear whether the injury will affect the Citizen’s plan to sign him over the summer.
The Gunners are also interested in the 25-year-old according to the Daily Mail newspaper.
Gundogan has seven assists and three goals in 40 appearances for Dortmund this season.
