Barcelona have no intention of selling Arda Turan this summer according to the La Liga champions sporting director Robert Fernandez.
The statement came amid suggestions that the 29-year-old could be open to leaving after managing just nine starts for Barcelona last season.
The sports radio station TalkSport claim that Chelsea are keeping tabs on the Turkish international.
“Arriving at Barca, even if you come from a big club, is not a simple process. You face [getting into a team] a team that is very strong,” Fernandez said in his press conference.
“But we expect a lot from him, we have total confidence in him and hopefully he will be decisive next season.”
Turan made his debut in January and made 25 appearances in total scoring twice, providing four assists and winning the league title for the second time – as well as the Spanish Cup.
The 29-year-old has another four-years remaining on his contract after joining on a £26 million move from Atletico Madrid last summer.
Turan will captain Turkey at Euro 2016 and has contributed to nine goals in his last 11 games for the Crescent-Stars.
