Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo hinted that he could be headed for a summer exit to join Nigerian international teammate Ogenyi Onazi in Turkey via social media.
Omeruo sent out an Instagram post wishing Onazi all the best at his new club Trabzonspor but in the caption he wrote that he could be seeing him soon: “Big congrats to my bro @onaziogenyi who has joined #trabzonspor today.. More blessings my bro.. Would be seeing u soon bro.”
The Blues defender who recently extended his contract at the club until 2019 has of course been closely linked with a move to Besiktas over the summer.
A source close to the player told Turkish-Football that Besiktas are close to completing a move for the Chelsea defender on a loan move.
The Istanbul giants have been negotiating a release clause option with Chelsea over the defender which has resulted in talks being dragged on longer than expected.
Chelsea had entered advanced talks with the Black Eagles over the transfer of the Nigerian international as revealed by BBC journalist Oluwashina Okeleji last month.
Okeleji told Turkish-football.com yesterday that negotiations had reached an advanced level.
“Besiktas are in advanced talks with Chelsea but nothing has been agreed with the player,” Okeleji said.
Omeruo is no stranger to Turkey having played for Kasimpasa on loan last season.
