Liverpool and Beşiktaş target Mario Gomez has revealed that he is yet to make a decision on his future.
“This is a very important period for me,” Gomez was quoted as saying by the Express after Fiorentina’s 4-1 defeat against PSG.
“We have to understand what the best thing is for me and for Fiorentina, nothing is decided yet.”
Beşiktaş and Liverpool have both been closely linked with the Germany international over the transfer window.
Gomez’s agent Uli Ferber recently admitted being in talks with Beşiktaş and other clubs suggesting that a summer move could be on the cards for his client.
Ferber told German magazine Sport1: “There are negotiations going on with several different clubs, including Besiktas.
“But nothing has been signed or agreed on yet. Nothing is decided.”
Gomez currently makes €5.5 million per-season and still has another year left on his current deal.
Beşiktaş recently signed Hoffenheim full-back Beck and Porto winger Ricardo Quaresma but the clubs priority remains finding a replacement for Demba Ba.
The Black Eagles sold last seasons top scorer to Shanghai Shenhua for €14 million and have yet to replace the Senegalese international.
Beşiktaş will only have two first-team strikers should they fail to sign another forward before the end of the transfer window.
