Fenerbahçe striker Robin van Persie‘s son has followed in his fathers footsteps and moved from playing football in England to Turkey.
The club released a statement confirming the news and also revealed that Van Persie’s daughter will be enrolling in the clubs gymnastic school.
Shaqueel van Persie was on the books at Manchester City despite his father playing for rivals United.
The youngster will now join the Fenerbahçe academy to continue his development as a player this season.
Shaqueel impressed Fenerbahçe fans at his fathers signing ceremony which was held in-front of 18,000 people at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium a fortnight ago.
Van Persie and his son impressed the crowd with their silky skills and even managed to showcase some head tennis.
The former United star joined Fenerbahçe on a £3.8 million move on a three-year deal after spending 12 years in England.
The 31-year-old striker has yet to play for Fenerbahçe but is expected to feature in the Yellow Canaries Champions League preliminary play-off round game against Shakhtar Donetsk at the end of the month.
