Aston Villa target Birkir Bjarnason makes decision on Trabzonspor move
Iceland international midfielder Birkir Bjarnason has snubbed a move to the Turkish Super League side Trabzonspor in favour of a move to Aston Villa.
A source close to the Black Sea based side told Turkish-Football that the Euro 2016 star decided against moving to Trabzonspor on an improved contract.
Bjarnason has instead opted to join Championship side Aston Villa to pursue his England dream.
The Iceland international is set to undergo a medical with Aston Villa this week.

Who is Birkir Bjarnason
Bjarnason previously played for Norwegian side Viking before making the move to Belgium for. Standard Liege. The 28-year-old has gone onto play for both Pescara and Sampdoria in Italy before earning a move to Basel in 2015.
The versatile midfielder is adept at playing both in the centre of midfield or on the left wing. Bjarnason played a key role during Iceland’s Euro 2016 run, scoring against both Portugal and France during the tournament.
Bjarnason made five appearances for Basel’s in the UEFA Champions League games this term and scored four goals in 13 appearances in the Swiss Super League.
