“I admire Jose Mourinho, not just his football but his philosophy,” Soyuncu said.
“I would like to work with him in the future.”
The defender is currently worth €25 million according to the club president of his former side Altinordu, Seyit Ozkan.
Freiburg signed Soyuncu from Altinordu over the summer transfer window and he has managed to transition from second-tier football in Turkey to the Bundesliga.
Soyuncu has established himself as a first team regular for Freiburg, where he has made 20 appearances in all competitions.
Freiburg are determined to keep hold of their rising star over the summer transfer window and Soyuncu’s current contract does run until 2021.
The Bundesliga side recently underlined that they do not intend to sell Soyuncu at the end of the season.
Fatih Terim has called up Soyuncu to the latest Turkish national team setup and he is expected to feature against Finland in the World Cup qualifier on Friday.
Soyuncu would make his first start for the Crescent-Stars if Terim decides to give him the nod in defence.
