Tottenham face competition for 20-goal striker as Roma join race, Turkey league giants want £12.8m

Roma have joined the race for Besiktas star striker Cenk Tosun according to Turkish sports newspaper AMK.

Per the source, Besiktas want £12.8 million for the Turkish international.

The Italian giants could face competition from Premier League outfit Tottenham.

Turkish-Football recently reported that Spurs have been keeping close tabs on the 26-year-old forward.

After meeting Tosun in Antalya, last December we discovered that the striker would only consider the Premier League if he were to leave Besiktas.

Tosun has been in great form this season scoring 20 goals in all competitions for the Black Eagles.

The powerful forward has scored in every competition he has played in this season, Turkish league, Turkish Cup, Champions League and Europa League.

UEFA actually awarded Tosun with the goal of the Champions League group stages for his wonderful volley against Benfica.

Tosun would not require a work permit to play in England due to having EU citizenship. The striker is a Turkish international but was born in Germany.

The Besiktas star started his career at Frankfurt before joining Gaziantepspor and finally Besiktas. Tosun currently has two years remaining on his contract.

The reigning Turkish league champions are currently first, five points clear of second placed Basaksehir.
