“He, Alexis and the other players who are in the last year of their contract are negotiating a new deal and they will know what is best for their future.”
Ozil will have just 12 months remaining on his contract at the end of the season.
The Germany international of Turkish origin has yet to reveal whether he will sign a new deal this summer.
The 28-year-old will hold talks over his future at the end of the season.
Arsenal could be forced into considering offers for Ozil at the end of the campaign if he does not agree to an extension.
Ozil has been in impressive form this season scoring 12 times and providing 13 assists this season.
The Arsenal playmaker created 12 chances in the 2-0 victory over Sunderland yesterday, setting a new Premier League record.
