Arsenal receive transfer boost after being made bookmakers favourites to sign £19m Barcelona star

Barcelona star Arda Turan has been closely linked with a summer exit from the La Liga giants over recent months.

Arsenal and Inter Milan have both been closely linked with a move for the Turkish international but it appears that the Gunners are favourites to land a deal.

The bookmakers have priced Arsenal as favourites to sign the experienced attacking midfielder.

The Gunners have been priced at 6/4 [2.50], while Inter are second at 6/1 and Monaco are rank outsiders at 16/1.

Turan has flirted with the idea of a Premier League move in the past and does have property in London.

Marca report that the attacking midfielder looks set to leave the La Liga giants over the summer.

The La Liga giants reportedly want £19 million [€22 million].

Barcelona president Josef Maria Bartomeu has given the green light to sell the star midfielder according to AS.

Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut was spotted holding talks with Inter Milan official Piero Ausilio last month.

An added bonus for clubs interested in signing Turan is that he would be able to solely focus on club football.

The Barcelona ace retired from international football yesterday after a bust-up with a football journalist.

“I am not here as the captain of the national team, I’m here as an ordinary citizen,” Turan was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.

“I do not regret what happened, I feel as free as a bird.

“After speaking with the manager and head of the federation we decided I will not be featuring in the Kosovo game.

“I am causing the team harm and have decided to put an end to be international career.”
