Photo: £26.6m Arsenal target falls victim to fake news after having belly Photoshopped to make him look overweight
News outlets in Turkey and Spain sparked a media storm after sharing a photograph of Arda Turan with the kind of belly you wouldn’t expect from a professional footballer.
Turan was clearly carrying a few extra pounds in the photograph but it turns out it was the latest case of fake news.
The 30-year-old had a photograph photoshopped to make him look overweight.
The origin pictures have been shared and are currently circulating on social media.

The original photograph sparked a social media storm and would probably have concerned clubs interested in signing Turan this summer to see their transfer target looking visibly out of shape.
Arsenal are currently favourites to sign the former Turkish international.
Mundo Deportivo claim that Barcelona want €30 million for Turan which at todays exchange rate works out at £26.6 million.
The report claims that the Gunners want Turan but are want Barcelona to lower their asking price.
The 30-year-old is currently on holiday in Mykonos and will join Barcelona for pre-season in July.
