Arsenal star Mesut Ozil was involved in a bizarre Instagram story yesterday.

A picture of the playmaker holding ex girlfriend Mandy Capristo in his arms was shared on his official Instagram account.

The caption translated from Germany, read: “I know I messed up Mandy but I will always love you.”

This resulted in speculation over whether Ozil had got back together with Mandy.

The playmaker of Turkish origin has however, been on holiday with former Miss World Turkey Amine Gulse, who he is dating.

Ozil moved quickly to deny reports that he was back with Mandy.

The 28-year-old claimed his Instagram account was hacked and that speculation that he is getting back with his ex was nothing but fake news.

After deleting the photograph with Mandy he uploaded another post which showed Ozil alongside Gulse.

The caption to the photograph read: “As you may have seen my account was hacked this evening ??. Thanks to my team and Instagram for assisting me today in getting control back of my instagram. Sorry to the media but it’s time to kill the stories and false headlines now. The story is FAKE NEWS.”
