Man City in talks with Turkish giants over sale of £30m Newcastle target & France international Eliaquim Mangala

Turkish Super League champions Besiktas are hoping to recruit Eliaquim Mangala as a defensive partner for Pepe.

The Black Eagles signed Pepe last month from Real Madrid and want to pair him with another big name defender as they prepare for the UEFA Champions League.

The Turkish outlet Fanatik has claimed that the Istanbul giants have set their sights on Eliaquim Mangala.

Per the source, Besiktas are already in talks with Man City and want to loan the France international on a 12-month deal.

Besiktas recently sold centre-back Marcelo to Lyon for €7.5 million and are in the market to find his replacement.

Mangala is likely to leave Manchester City as he does not feature in Pep Guardiola’s plans. The France international was sent out on loan to Valencia last season.

Newly promoted Newcastle United are also interested in signing Mangala according to the Sun.

Mangala joined Man City for a lofty £32 million from FC Porto back in 2014. The 26-year-old made 33 appearances for Valencia last season.
