West Brom suffer transfer blow in race to sign €11m Brazilian midfielder Josef de Souza
West Brom have suffered a blow in the hunt to sign Fenerbahce star Josef de Souza.
The Baggies tabled an €11 million offer for the Brazilian midfielder last week and want to get the deal over the line before the transfer window slams shut.
However, NTVSpor claim that Fenerbahce have rejected West Brom’s initial offer for De Souza.
Per the source, West Brom offered €4 million upfront with the remaining €7 million to be paid over a two-year period. However, the Istanbul giants want West Brom to pay the full amount up-front.
Josef De Souza was left out of Fenerbahce’s starting lineup which took on Genclerbirigi last night.

De Souza made the move to Fenerbahce from Sao Paulo for €8 million in July 2015. The Brazilian midfielder racked up three assists and seven goals in 45 appearances for the Yellow Canaries last term.
The Baggies were held to a 1-1 draw by Stoke City in the Premier League on Sunday. West Brom take on the newly promoted Brighton next weekend.
