West Brom transfer news: Euro giants confirm Baggies offer for Brazilian midfielder, talks ongoing
Fenerbahce boss Aykut Kocaman has confirmed West Brom’s approach for Josef de Souza.
De Souza was omitted from Kocaman’s startling line-up which took on Genclerbirligi on Sunday. The Istanbul giants went onto win the game by a 2-1 scoreline.
Kocaman confirmed confirmed talks between West Brom and De Souza are ongoing during a pre-match interview with NTV Spor.
“Josef is not starting because he was involved in some transfer talks over the weekend and this could hamper his motivation,” Kocaman told NTVSpor.
Kocaman also discussed De Souza’s transfer after the game: “Josef has received a serious offer from abroad and he’s approaching it positively. If it all fits well, then I’ll have no choice but to allow his departure.”
According to NTVSpor, Fenerbahce rejected West Brom’s initial offer of €11 million for De Souza. Per the source, the Yellow Canaries want the full fee paid up-front while West Brom offered €4 million with the remainder of the fee to be paid over 24 months.
