Arsenal news: Arsene Wenger admits Ozil contract talks have ‘slowed down’ – Man United interested
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has poured cold water on reports claiming contract talks with Mesut Ozil have broken down.
The 28-year-old’s current deal with the north London-based club expires in under 10-months.
Ozil could end up leaving the club for free next summer unless a new deal is agreed.
However, Wenger admitted that contract talks have slowed but remains hopeful of extending the World Cup winners contract.
“Yes, of course [I am hopeful],” Wenger told reporters ahead of tonight’s Europa League clash with FC Koln.
“The contract talks have slowed down a little bit since August 31, because we need a little breather and to focus on the competition,”
“But we will slowly get back into that.”

Meanwhile, the German outlet Bild have linked Ozil with a move to Premier League rivals Manchester United.
The Gunners take on FC Koln tonight in the Europa League before traveling to Stamford Bridge on Sunday to face Chelsea.
