Crystal Palace prepare €25m January bid for Newcastle target who scored stunning Champions League goal against Porto
Crystal Palace narrowly missed out on signing Cenk Tosun over the summer transfer window.
The Besiktas star revealed that he would have joined Palace had they made their offer a week earlier.
“Crystal Palace offered €13.5 million on transfer deadline day,” Tosun was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.
“Had they made the bid a week earlier I would be playing in the Premier league right now.
“I would only leave Besiktas if I made my club money and if the circumstances are right.
“Now I’m focused on winning my third consecutive league title, playing Champions League football and focusing on international football.”
Newcastle United were also closely linked with the powerful striker according to the Chronicle.
Tosun ended up staying at Besiktas and has got his season off to a great start.
The Turkish international has scored three goals in six games for the Black Eagles including a stunning Champions League goal against Porto.
Besiktas ended up beating the Portuguese champions 3-1, becoming the first Turkish side to beat Porto in European competition.
Tosun scored the goal of the night with a shot from 32 metres which reached speeds of 106 km/h [Sporx].

Per the source, Besiktas will not consider offers below their valuation.
Tosun does have another two-years remaining on his contract.
The 26-year-old played an important role in Besiktas winning the league title for the past two seasons.
The Istanbul giants are currently first in the Champions League Group G on three points.
